A substantial sum of cash has been stolen in an ATM theft in Belfast.

The machine was broken into close to an off-licence on the Castlereagh Road this morning.

Police say the suspects made off towards Wayland Street at around 3.30am.

Detective Sergeant McPhillips said: “it was reported that an ATM cash dispenser had been broken into close to an off-licence in the area.

"A substantial amount of money was taken during the incident.
