It's one of a number of walks throughout the UK this autumn

Two and a half thousand people are expected to be taking part in a walk for dementia in Belfast today.

It's taking part in the Stormont Estate, as one of 31 events throughout the UK in September and October.

It's being organised by Alzheimers Society, as 225 thousand people develop dementia every year.

Speaking to Q Radio, Operations Director Bernadine McCrory says greater awareness is helping to start breaking the taboo behind the illness.
