Three men have been arrested after power tools were stolen from a shop in Lisburn.
A store in Sprucefield was broken into shortly before 12:30pm on Saturday.
Police then tracked down the suspects who had tried to flee in a blue-coloured Hyundai Accent car, towards Dublin.
The 18, 19 and 21-year-olds are in custody, assisting officers with their enquiries.
Chief Inspector Barney O'Connor said,
"Both the 18-year old and the 21-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of theft, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of a Class B controlled drug. The 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of theft. All three remain in custody, assisting police with enquiries.
"While officers dealt with this incident yesterday, it was necessary to close the A1 for a short time to keep officers and the public safe, and I would like to thank the public for their assistance."
