Two men in their 20s are in hospital after being hit by a car in Belfast.

It happened in the Brookvale Avenue area in the north of the city, shortly after 7 o'clock on Monday night.

A vehicle mounted the pavement, striking the two men and then a parked car.

A 37-year-old man's been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, and possession of a blade or point.

The two pedestrians are being treated for their injuries, which aren't believed to be life-threatening.

Chief Inspector Kelly Moore said: “I am  appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision, or who may have captured dash cam footage, to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1087 of 03/12/18."
