Bin collections and school transport at special schools are just some of the services likely to be disrupted by strike action over the next fortnight.
Members of the Unite union in local councils and the Housing Executive are striking in a dispute over pay from today until May 8 inclusive (excluding 2 May).
They will be joined tomorrow by members within the Education Authority.

Council chiefs in Belfast say Belfast Zoo, public toilets, parks and playing pitches could close as a result of the action.
Glenveagh special school in Belfast says pupils will not be able to come into school for almost two weeks.
Street cleansing routes, waste collection, some frontline services and council venues may also be affected.
However, all burial, cremation and death registration services will continue to operate as normal.
The council says it is working hard to minimise the impact on residents and businesses.
