The PSNI has confirmed a viable pipe bomb type device was found outside a property in North Belfast.
It led to a security alert and the bomb squad was called to the Stanhope Street area just before 1pm this afternoon.
The device has now been taken away for further forensic examination.
People are being allowed to return to their homes and roads have re-opened.
