Patricia O’Neill, secretary for the Newry & Mourne Road Safety Committee is joined by Eadaoin McCann to launch the Enhanced Driver skills course.

A road safety committee member says young people need more education on safe driving.

Tony McKeown was speaking as a new road safety skills course was launched in Newry.
Enhanced Driver Skills is a three-session initiative combining theory and practical training.
Mr McKeown says it aims to prepare 17 to 24 year-olds for potential road dangers.

Speaking on the Q Cafe he said, "I think it's a major culture change we would have to have in this area or anywhere in Northern Ireland for people to want to go back and brush up on their driver skills because a lot of them are being trained just to pass the test as opposed to drivers skills for life."
