Christmas Craft Market - North Down Museum

NOV 23 - NOV 24 2019, 10:00 - 16:30 DAILY, NORTH DOWN MUSEUM

North Down Museum’s Christmas market has become a regular in the local shopping calendar.  The market will have everything you need for those special stocking fillers.  Local artists and crafters will provide a range of goods for you to browse.

On Saturday at lunchtime, there will be music in Coffee Cure and who knows, Santa may even make an appearance.  Keep a lookout!

Saturday 23 November: 10am - 4.30pm

Sunday 24 November: 12noon - 4.30pm

Bangor Christmas Lights Switch On and Fireworks

The Snowman™ and The Snowdog will help Santa light up Bangor this festive season.

There will be plenty of festive fun on offer at Bangor seafront, Project 24 and North Down Museum. Expect family fun, food and craft market and seasonal entertainment all leading to the lights switch-on at McKee Clock arena with extra special guests The Snowman™ and The Snowdog followed by a fireworks finale.

The big switch-on of the Christmas Tree lights will be at 5.30 pm

by the Mayor, Alderman Bill Keery, Santa and very special guests, The Snowman™ and The Snowdog, followed by the spectacular annual fireworks display [best viewing spots, along the coastal path and promenade.

This event is organised in conjunction with Bangor Chamber of Commerce and Main Street, My Street.

Georgian Day Light Show 'A Christmas Cracker'

Join the crowds for an unmissable experience as the city lights up on Georgian Day.  The dramatic 'A Christmas Cracker' Light Show will transform the Market House, a beautiful Georgian building into a shimmering canvas for images, special effects and other surprises!

Ticket wristbands are available to book online from Tuesday 5th November at 10:00 am with a maximum of 4 tickets per person.

Ticket wristbands can also be collected in person, free of charge, from Armagh Visitor Information Centre, 40 English Street, Armagh, BT61 7BA or posted out (additional postage charge applies).  

Please note that admission to the Light Show is by wristband only.  Only those wearing the correct wristband will be admitted to each show. 

Shows start at 5:30pm, 6:30pm, 7:30pm and 8:15pm (4 shows in total)

Santa's Post Office - Royal Avenue

Nationwide, Royal Avenue, Belfast, Join Santa’s elves this Christmas at his Belfast Post Office!

Write your letter to Santa, get it stamped by the elves with their North Pole seal of approval, then post it in Santa’s magical postbox and see the journey it will make from Belfast to the North Pole! Santa will be busy making his list and checking it twice, with all the children on his nice list receiving a letter back from the man himself!

Opening times:

Thursdays 3-7 pm

Saturdays 10-5 pm

Sundays 11-5 pm

Soda and Champ’s Christmas Adventure

This special animated story tells the tale of Soda the cat and Champ the dog – an unlikely pair who embark on an exciting journey to make it home on time for Christmas.

The animated adventure will be projected onto the buildings opposite CastleCourt from Saturday 16 November, with the show repeated daily (every 15 minutes) from 4 pm.

An accompanying soundtrack has been specially curated for the festive tale and a new episode will be shown every Saturday, culminating in a screening of the entire Christmas adventure on Saturday 14 December which will then be shown daily until 10 January.

Meanwhile, little ones can enjoy seasonal crafts, puppet shows, colouring-in and get started on those all-important letters to Santa in Soda and Champ’s Activity Den in the former Nationwide building on Royal Avenue. Soda and Champ's Activity Den will be open from 16 November until 24 December. Santa’s elves will also be on hand to give letters the North Pole seal of approval at Santa’s Post Office!
