George Hamilton's remarks have been branded as offensive and bewildering
The PSNI Chief Constable has been asked to apologise and withdraw comments he made on Twitter.
It's after he tweeted about how officers should "dry their eyes, do the job or move on."
In a statement, the Chairman of the Police Federation for Northern Ireland Mark Lindsay says George Hamilton's remarks are offensive and bewildering.
Lindsay went on to say officers are under enormous pressure, thousands of days are lost to illness and that the Chief Constable is out of touch.
Lindsay also calls for the PSNI Chief to take the opportunity to "put it right" without delay.
