A 51-year-old man questioned about the murder of an RUC officer has been released.

21-year-old Michael Ferguson was shot by the IRA in Derry/Londonderry in 1993.

The suspect was arrested in the city yesterday under the Terrorism Act by detectives from the PSNI Legacy Investigation Branch.

Police say the murder investigation continues.

A 51 y/o man arrested by detectives investigating the murder of police officer Michael Ferguson in January 1993, has been released following questioning.

He was detained in Derry/Londonderry yesterday under the Terrorism Act.
