A man in his forties has been stabbed in the back and head after being attacked in east Belfast.
The victim was chased by a number of men from the Killagan Bend in the Cregagh Road area, heading towards the Greenway just after 11pm last night.
It was there he was assaulted.
The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Police have described it as a vicious attack.
