Fermanagh and Omagh District Council in partnership with Disability Sport Northern Ireland is delivering a free 12 week “FitHer” activity programme for females with disabilities and their friends.
The programme is funded by the Department for Communities through Sport NI and supported by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council Everybody Active coaches.
This programme will run for 12 weeks at Omagh Leisure Complex from Wednesday 24th Jan 2018, 6.30pm – 7.30pm and Fermanagh Lakeland Forum from Wednesday 24th Jan, 6.30pm-7.30pm.
Disability Sport NI have provided coaches with training to deliver inclusive activities to people with disabilities, using a range of the new Disability Sports Hub equipment.
The activities on offer allow people with disabilities to come along and be active.
Speaking about the programme, the Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Stephen McCann, said:
“The Council is committed to creating more inclusive opportunities for our residents to get active so that they can enjoy the benefits of leading an active lifestyle.
"The Council is delighted to be working in partnership with Disability Sport NI to deliver this unique fitness programme using specially designed equipment which will enable participants to benefit though coaching and instruction from qualified coaches.”
The programme is aimed at females aged 16 years+, no prior experience is required. Participants are welcome to bring along friends, family members, guides and carers to support their participation in the programme.
