Fermanagh and Omagh District Council (FODC) has launched a new step challenge, in partnership with the Public Health Agency (PHA).
Their aim is to encourage people who take little or no exercise to sign up and make positive changes to their lifestyle by getting active and taking more steps each day.
These can be monitored using their free step pedometer.
To help particpants, walked will be organised once a week over the course of 12 weeks and will be led by fully qualified walk leaders.
They'll commence at the following venues at the dates and times listed:
Wednesday 3 May 2017 Gillygooley Hall, Omagh 7.30pm
Thursday 4 May 2017 Old Mill Car Park, Drumquin 5.30pm
Tuesday 9 May 2017 Omagh Leisure Complex 5.30pm
Tuesday 9 May 2017 Fermanagh Lakeland Forum 7.00pm
Thursday 11 May 2017 Castle Park Leisure Centre, Lisnaskea 7.00pm
Thursday 11 May 2017 Bawnacre Centre, Irvinestown 7.30pm
Places on the programme are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Participants will be provided with a "Choose to Live Better" hooded top on the first session of each programme.
Speaking about the programme, Chairperson of FODC, Councillor Mary Garrity said:
"Taking the first steps to getting active is often the hardest. FODC is delighted to be involved in the Step Challenge, in partnership with the PHA, to help residents lead a more active lifestyle with support provided by qualified walk leaders and mobile technology."
