The Waterworks Park in north Belfast has been closed due to an outbreak of Avian flu.
Belfast city council said the park "has been temporarily closed until further notice" after 16 dead birds were removed in recent days.
An outbreak at a business in Co Tyrone resulted in 27,000 ducks being culled last week.
At the weekend the Department of Agriculture confirmed avian flu had been detected in six wild birds found in Belfast Waterworks, Harbour Estate and in Carryduff.
North Belfast councillor Paul McCusker said the Waterworks was a popular park used by hundreds of people every day.
He said that seeing sick and dying birds had been very distressing for park users.
