'I was shocked': Love Island's Tink Reading left 'flabbergasted' by Montel McKenzie after Casa Amor

'Love Island' star Tink Reading was "90 percent sure" she would be picked by Montel McKenzie to remain in the villa during the Casa Amor recoupling, and insisted he gave her "no inclination" he would go back to Leah Taylor.

Tink Reading was "90 per cent sure" she would be picked to remain on 'Love Island' during the Casa Amor recoupling.

The 26-year-old project manager grew close to Montel McKenzie in the villa after she entered the ITV2 dating show during the Casa Amor stage, but he left Tink "shocked" after choosing to remain with Leah Taylor.

When asked how she feels about leaving the series, Tink said: "Obviously it is sad to be leaving, especially because it’s short and sweet but that’s to be expected with Casa Amor.

"I was still shocked as I didn’t expect it from what I thought was the genuine connection I had with Montel, so I was 90 per cent sure I would stay.

"I think my reaction shows it all. I was flabbergasted because of the time I spent with him and the things he had said to me.

"Montel told me that in the two days that we had together he knew we had a lot more in common than him and Leah.

"We had similar interests with our friends and family life being the same - he gave me no inclination that he would sway back towards Leah. He was very open and instigated a lot, asking me to stay in his bed and pulling me to the terrace."

Following Montel's surprise decision on Wednesday night's (05.07.23) episode, Tink lashed out at him as "fake".

When asked to host Maya Jama if she was surprised by his decision, she said in front of all of the Islanders: "Yeah, I didn't think I would be standing here to be honest.

"The past couple of days, Montel did say he had more in common with me than he did Leah and the night we had in bed together wasn't exactly PG so."

Montel then said: "Whatever, you can say whatever you want to say. It wasn't a very difficult decision for me."

Tink replied: "I don't know how you can move like that but stay in a couple, it doesn't make sense to me."

But Tink has now insisted she doesn't want "any involvement" with Montel following his antics.

She said: "Montel is a caring person and I do believe he did feel bad after he took me to the terrace.

"We probably would have been friends if none of this would have happened because of how much we have in common.

"For me if you can move mad like that I don’t want any involvement. In the nicest possible way, Leah can have him..."

'Love Island' continues tomorrow at 9pm on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player, proudly sponsored by Virgin Media Mobile.

The reality show can also be seen on ITV2.
