Queen Camilla pays a special tribute to her late friend Paul O'Grady in an upcoming radio special.

Friends of the TV legend - who passed away in March aged 67 - will celebrate his life with a special edition of Boom Radio on Christmas Day (25.12.23), the station he hosted an annual festive episode for 14 years.

King Charles' wife was deeply fond of the 'For The Love of Dogs' presenter and the 76-year-old royal is a patron of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, where animal-lover and ambassador Paul spent many hours checking in on the animals at the shelter.

Camilla's tribute read out at a memorial to the star in October will be revealed by his pal and neighbour, comedian Julian Clary, 64.

It read: "I miss Paul very much. I had the pleasure of knowing him for many years, laughing at his waspish way with words and endlessly touched by the kindness of his heart.

"He was the most welcome guest at any event, from glamorous parties to private visits to our beloved Battersea, and was loved by one and all.

"Perhaps this is no surprise. After all, there are no finer judges of character than dogs, and about Paul, they were unanimous in their devotion, as were we all."

'Paul O'Grady The Musical Celebration' will also feature touching tributes from his daughter Sharon Mousley,49, comedian Dawn French, 66, and actress Amanda Mealing, 56.

Following Paul's sudden passing, a photo was posted on Twitter of them together during an event at Battersea on the Royal Family's Twitter account and was captioned: "Deeply saddened to hear of the death of Paul O’Grady, who worked closely with Her Majesty in support of @Battersea_, providing lots of laughter and many waggy-tailed memories."

Paul's husband Andre Portasio confirmed his partner died "unexpectedly and peacefully".

He said in a statement: "It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul has passed away unexpectedly but peacefully yesterday evening.

"He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all those who enjoyed his humour, wit and compassion.

"I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years."
