Katie Piper has been dubbed the "Queen of the Weekend" after landing a new presenting deal with ITV.

The 40-year-old TV star fronted two series of 'Katie Piper’s Breakfast Show' from 2022 until 2023 and while the initial run was only shown on Sunday mornings, the programme will be broadcast across both weekend mornings going forwards.

A TV insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It’s a massive show of confidence in Katie to not only recommission her show but to literally double it across the entire weekend. It’s little wonder she is being called the new Queen of the Weekend on the channel. Bosses have been delighted by the audience's reaction and Katie is fast becoming one of ITV’s most loved presenters."

Bosses are "delighted" the 'Loose Women' panellist has been given another chance to host her own series and teased that what is to come will be "distinctly different" from the chat show's initial episodes.

Amanda Ross, Executive Producer and CEO of production company Cactus, said: “I’m delighted ITV have given us the chance to produce a third series with Katie Piper, this time across the whole weekend, recognising the success of her Sunday shows last year.

"We will be able to showcase more of a range of Katie’s talents as Saturday and Sunday mornings will have a distinctly different vibe."

The announcement comes as the broadcaster have given weekend shows to a number of famous faces, including former 'Love Island' host Laura Whitmore and stand-up comedian Chris McCausland.

Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment Commissioning at ITV, said: “Our new weekend morning line ups on ITV provide a mix of brand-new formats and talent, plus a returning favourite.

"Away from the studio, Jimmy and Shivi’s 'Farmhouse Breakfast' will provide a wholesome start to your weekend mornings; we’re excited to welcome the funny talents of Chris McCausland with his brand new chat show; and we’re delighted to welcome back Katie Piper now across both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Your weekends start with us on ITV."
