A Garda and another man have been shot during an incident in the Ballymun area of North Dublin.
Officers had been carrying out a planned search of a property at the time in an operation believed to be connected to drugs.
Both casualties have been taken to hospital where their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Details are still emerging, but it is understood the Gardaí were shot at from inside the property before returning gunfire.
The officer injured is believed to have been shot in the arm.
