The altercation happened on Friday

A man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Downpatrick on Friday.

A woman was left in a critical condition following an altercation in Thomas Russell Park.

It's understood the victim had been living there with her young child.

The 30 year old suspect is due before Belfast magistrates Court later.
