There’s been widespread condemnation after a cat was shot several times with a pellet gun in Castledawson.

The 15-year-old ginger cat called ‘Peachy’ is being treated at Glenshane Veterinary Clinic.

The incident has sparked outrage on social media.

Animal rights groups are appealing for people to contact police if they have information.
