Miss out on a place for the Belfast Marathon? Charities can still secure guaranteed places

The Phoenix Energy Belfast City Marathon may be sold out, but charities across Northern Ireland still have a unique opportunity to get involved.
Event Masters is offering a limited number of guaranteed charity places, giving charities the
chance to secure marathon bibs and offer them to supporters who are willing to fundraise for a
cause close to their heart.
This initiative allows charities to turn each marathon place into a meaningful fundraising
opportunity, while giving runners a chance to take part in one of Northern Ireland’s biggest
sporting events.
How Do Charity Places Work?
Instead of entering through the public ballot, charities can purchase a package of guaranteed
marathon places. These places are then allocated to supporters, staff, or community members
who commit to fundraising on behalf of the charity.
It’s a proven model that:
- Drives fundraising income
- Engages supporters in a powerful challenge
- Builds visibility and community impact for charities
With the marathon already sold out, charity places are now one of the only remaining ways to
take part.
A Win for Charities and Runners
For charities, this offers a clear, structured way to raise funds while giving supporters an
unforgettable experience. For runners who missed out on a ballot place, it’s a second chance to toe the start line, this time while running for a cause. Charity places are limited and allocated on a first-come basis.
