At least 27 children and their teacher are dead after a school roof collapsed in Pakistan.
The pupils were attending a private school in Peshawar, where more than three dozen others were also injured.
Several children remain trapped under the rubble and rescuers are trying to reach them, according to Bilal Faizi, a spokesman for the emergency services.
Mohammad Asim, spokesman for the Lady Reading Hospital, said some of the injured were in a critical condition.
The children are all believed to be under the age of 13.
Authorities said they fear the number of dead could rise.
Images showed dozens of residents and rescue workers at the scene, with emergency services in attendance.
It's not yet clear what caused the collapse.
The private Al-Khair Education Center school is located in Dir Colony of the northern city.
In July, a roof collapsed at a tutoring centre under construction in Lahore, killing four schoolchildren.
