SDLP leader Colum Eastwood has called SDLP Leader Colum Eastwood has urged senior members of the DUP to intervene and force Arlene Foster to step aside
The SDLP leader Colum Eastwood says that 'if Christmas didn't save Arlene Foster, an Election won't' And the Foyle MLA has called on senior DUP members to force the First Minister to step aside following the RHI scandal.
"Since this scandal broke the DUP have used every weapon in their political arsenal." said Mr Eastwood "They have tried the orange card, the scapegoat card, the misogyny card and everything else in between. The one approach they have failed to adopt is showing a bit of humility and honesty."
Mr Eastwood also said that, whatever the outcome of any possible election, his Party's demands would remain the same; that Arlene Foster step aside, and an independent inquiry take place.
He called upon Gerry Adams and Sinn Fein to demand the same, rather than "finding a solution that the DUP find acceptable"
