Weekend Hotspot – Four Seasons Hotel Milan

Four Seasons Hotel Milan Courtyard

Milan is the city of fashion and the economic capital of Italy, which are both quite clearly visible when you’re walking around. Piazza del Duomo is both the most central square in Milan and also one of the most visited parts of the city, and not just by tourists but also locals hanging out on weekends.

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

The cities most famous landmark is probably the Duoma, or cathedral, which sits at its heart. It's one of the biggest churches in the world. It was built in Gothic style and its construction took centuries. It began in the 14th century and was finished in 1965. While a visit to the interior is easy and free, not everyone knows that you can take an elevator up and walk around on the cathedral’s roof. Nearby prepare to be amazed by the architecture and decorations of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, Italy’s oldest shopping mall. With its glass dome and fine details on the side of the walls, the Galleria is an incredible place to walk around.

Milan Cathedral Sunset

The 20th century museum focuses on artworks by Italian and foreign artists. Its collection includes about 400 works, mostly paintings, photographs and sculptures that were made from 1902 till the 1970s. Major highlights include works by Braque, Picasso, Matisse or Boccioni. The museum also hosts concerts and temporary exhibitions. Sempione is the biggest park in Milan (spreading on nearly 100 acres) is surrounded by two major sights - Sforza Castle and the Arch of Peace. It was established by the end of the 19th century and was popular ever since.
