It happened in the Wauchope Court area of the city

A man is in hospital after a serious assault in Belfast.

It's believed to have happened in the Wauchope Court area of the city, sometime between 3:45am and 5:45am yesterday morning.

The male was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, where he remains.
