The Drogs were on a six-game unbeaten run and eight points ahead of Derry in the League of Ireland standings.
The Candystripes remain in eighth position but are now unbeaten in their last five matches going into the mid-season break.

Midfield star Patching is on loan from Dundalk and could be returning to his parent club.
It's the final round of fixtures in the Danske Bank Premiership on Saturday evening.
